Description |
This is a World War II era patch from the 6th Armored Division. The triangular patch has a yellow, blue, and red background with an olive green border. The design includes a black number 6 at the top, a black cannon track and a black cannon overlaid with a red lightning bolt. The 6th Armored Division was formed in 1942 and landed in Normandy six week after the D-Day Invasion. The 6th was attached to General George S. Patton's Third Army. The division took part in the Battle of the Bulge and were instrumental in the liberation of Buchenwald. The 6th Division earned the nickname Super 6th to symbolize their spirit. |
