Description |
This is a matchbook, circa 1945, from Town Tap Room, 5303 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn. The matchcover has three sections: the first section has a red background with the bar's name, proprietor Elmer R. Buell, and address printed in black with an illustration on a black rectangle of a foamy mug of beer and the phrase "The Place to Refresh"; the second section has the phone number printed in black on a yellow background; and the third section is an illustration of a woman, wearing a negligee, seated on a checked ottoman, with the phrase "Sleepy-Time Girl" printed next to her. The interior of the matchcover has information about alcohol offerings from the business. |
