Description |
This is a Quarter Kitty Book, circa 1980, a promotion from Oak Lawn Trust & Savings Bank, 4900 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn. The Oak Lawn Trust & Savings Bank began using these books in 1960, and in 1972 held a contest to name the kitten. The bank merged with the First National Bank of Evergreen Park in 1992 and no longer exists today. The book has an illustration of an orange cat with green eyes and wearing a pink bowtie on the cover along with the phrase "Fill Me Up-Take Me To:" with the bank's name and address printed under it. The back of the book has a list of bank services available to its customers. The interior of the books has slots for 20 quarters ($5.00) and messages of encouragement to save. |
