Description |
This is a dime kitty book, a promotion from Oak Lawn Trust and Savings Bank, 4900 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn. The bank merged with the First National Bank of Evergreen Park in 1992 and no longer exists today. The heavy paper book has an illustration of a black cat with green eyes, wearing a pink checked shirt for the cover and an outline of the cat's head at the top. The title, "Dime Kitty" is printed across the bodice of the shirt with the bank's name and address printed below that. The back of the book has an illustration that has the outline of the cat's head (rear view) and a phrase to encourage saving dimes. The interior of the book has five rows down with three slots across for dimes on both pages for a total of 30 dimes ($3.00). Starting with the first slot, an illustration of a cat begins to appear until the 30th slot where there is an illustration of a cat playing with a ball of yarn. |
