Description |
This is a postcard sent to Dr. Robert S. Heck first addressed on mailing label to 4817 W. 83rd Street, Oak Lawn which was crossed off and stamped in red ink for an address at 8625 S. Cicero Avenue, Chicago. The front of the card has a color photo of the Wilkes Station, Australian Antarctica. The station opened in 1957 and was primarily operated by Australia until its closing in 1969. The back of the card has preprinted text, including a generic message about the drug Pentothal signed by Abbott. The doctor who discovered Pentothal was chairman of Abbott Laboratories. There is an Oak Lawn postmark dated March 8, 1961. |
