This is a World War II era patch from the 6th Infantry Division. The patch is a red six pointed patch that would have been on the shoulder of the uniform. The 6th Infantry Division was known as the Red Star Division because of its eye-catching insignia. During World War II, the unit was activated in 1939 and moved to Hawaii by 1943. From there, the division fought in combat operations throughout the Philippine Islands and supported the Philippine military. |
