Description |
This is a photograph of the construction site of the 51st Avenue Station development, a mixed commercial and residential building, located at 9440 South 51st Avenue. This development was built on the former site of Fernwood Smith Cleaners at 5114 West 95th Street, the A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange located at 5112 W. 95th Street, and Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located in back of the currency exchange at 5108 West 95th Street. This photograph looks southeast across the construction area. Equipment and construction materials are stacked on the site. In the background on the left, the rail crossing on 95th Street near 51st Avenue is visible as well as a residential home on the south side of 95th Street. In the background on the right is one of the commuter canopy shelters at the Oak Lawn Metra train station. |
