Description |
The 1982 Oak Lawn Centennial celebrated the 100th anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. This photograph features the famous Budweiser Clydesdales moving westbound on 95th Street just west of 54th Avenue during the Centennial Parade. Spectators can be seen lining both sides of the street. Businesses partially visible in the background include Travel Unlimited located at 5411 West 95th Street in the very left of the photograph, Home Real Estate office at 5419 West 95th Street, Stanley's Tailor Shop at 5501 West 95th Street, and Bell Federal Savings & Loan at 5555 W. 95th Street. A large sign advertising the Beatty Lumber Company, which was located at 9537 South 52nd Avenue, can be seen on the side of a building beyond the Bell Federal building. |
