Description |
This is a photograph of Schultz's Tavern and Oak Lawn Buffet, 5220 W. 95th. From left to right are Walter Schultz, Fred Schultz, Edna Schultz, and two unidentified men. A marqueee style sign has advertising for United Breweries Company Beer on the left and the title Oak Lawn Buffet in the center. A sign over the corner entrance announces Fred Schultz' Buffet. On the left side of the building, a sign marked Family Entrance is present. Schultz's Tavern later became Jim's Tap Room and then Nick's Tap Room. The building also served as the local post office and telegraph office. Post Office and Telephone/Telegraph signs can be seen on the frame building on the right. A telephone wire is visible coming from the top of a pole in the foreground of the picture and running directly down to the building serving as the Telephone/Telegraph office. |
