This is a photograph, circa 1947, of 95th Street looking west from approximately 52nd Avenue. The black & white image shows businesses lining the streets, cars of the era, and a bicyclist. On the lower left corner, the title Main Street (95th) Facing West OakLawn ILL is printed on the image. On the south side of street from left to right are believed to be Rupich Drug Store, 5226 W. 95th Street; Boulevard Grocery and Market, 5239 W. 95th Street; and Ratajik's Pharmacy, 5269 W. 95th Street. On the north side of street are Jim's Tap Room, 5220 W. 95th Street; Cook Avenue intersection; Harnew's Service Station; 5252 W. 95th Street; the Hilgendorf House; Hearty Eat Shop, 5248 W. 95th Street; and Behrend's Hardware Store, 5300 W. 95th Street. |
