Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Fest Parade in 1983. It features the Rampart Lion Pipe band moving westbound on 95th Street just passing Cook Avenue. Many more parade units can be seen following the band. Spectators are lined up along the north side of 95th Street to watch the parade and people in white and green shirts can be seen standing on the reviewing stand. A blue and white striped tent is partially visible set up in the Village parking lot east of the library. In the background, structures including the 5210 Building, the Binotti dentist practice at 5208 West 95th Street, and the Zimmerman and Sandeman Memorial Chapel at 5200 West 95th Street are visible. A partially visible sign that reads Fountain Service marks the place of Dove Candies and Ice Cream at 5172 West 95th Street and in the distance, the Fernwood Smith Cleaner sign at 5114 West 95th Street is visible. |
