Description |
This is a photograph of damages after the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color image was taken at the intersection of 53rd Court and 94th Street where an uprooted tree damaged the sidewalk. Across the street, looking southeast, is a heavily damaged home. In the background on the right, the Oak Lawn water tower, located behind the Center of Public Safety on Cook Avenue near 95th Street, is partially visible. The home in the photo has since been demolished. The site is now a municipal parking lot for the village. |
