Description |
This is a photograph of the construction site of the 51st Avenue Station development, a mixed commercial and residential building, located at 9440 South 51st Avenue. This development was built on the former site of Fernwood Smith Cleaners at 5114 West 95th Street, the A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange located at 5112 W. 95th Street, and Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located in back of the currency exchange at 5108 West 95th Street. This photograph looks to the north across the construction site from 95th Street. The foundation is in and cement block is going up. Stacks of bricks, 55 gallon drums, a storage container, and heavy equipment are inside of the construction site fence. Beyond the site, the garage of a private residence on the west side of 51st Avenue can be seen. In the right background, Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, located at 9411 South 51st Avenue, is partially in view. |
