This is a photograph of a covered wagon being pulled by a pair of oxen at the Oak Lawn Round-Up Days parade near 53rd Avenue. The wagon advertises I.N.R. Beatty Lumber Company and Sparr Farms. Crowds can be seen lining the parade route. In the background the Hearty Eat Shop, located at 5248 W. 95th Street, and Phil Krauss' Yankee Lounge at 5256 West 95th Street (formerly the Hilgendorf home, located at 5240 W. 95th Street), are seen in the background. The Oak Lawn water tower is seen overhead in the background and in the far right of the photo, Nick's Tap Room (formerly Schultz's Tavern and Jim's Tap Room), located at 5220 W. 95th Street is partially visible. |
