This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of a heavily damaged home located in the 9400 block of Menard. The home sat just east of the Oak Lawn Community High School baseball and football field. A baseball dugout can be seen in the left of the picture. Fencing and heavily damaged buses from the Suburban Transit Company bus depot located at 5800 W. 95th Street can be seen surrounding the home. In the background on the left, the Eastman Insurance Company building, located at 5732 W. 95th Street, can be seen. It is also heavily damaged, missing its second floor. |
