Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Round-Up Days Parade in 1953. A group of military veterans, members of the Johnson-Phelps VFW Post #5220, march in formation west on 95th Street near 53rd Avenue. Some of the veterans are part of color guard and are carrying the American flag, organization flags, or are bearing rifles as they march. A man riding a horse is following the veterans. Spectators line the street watching the parade pass. Some people are sitting on the roof of the Hearty Eats Restaurant, visible on the left side of the photo in the background. |
