Description |
This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of the intersection of Southwest Highway and 95th Street. Part of the Fisher Motel is still standing, on the left, but is boarded up with the roof missing. The debris of the residential home that stood to the right and Shoot's Tavern which was on the corner have been completely cleared. The damage to Oak Lawn Community High School is still visible. The fencing across the top of the pedestrian overpass and the railings have been replaced. The Standard gas station on the northeast corner of the intersection still has boarded up windows. |
