Description |
This is a photograph of damages after the 1967 tornado. The black & white image shows a man, poised with a sledgehammer, standing near the front cement stairs and railings. A wheelbarrow is parked next to the stairs. Debris is strewn across the sidewalk and yard. Behind him, a car is seen moving southbound on Major Avenue. Homes, most with either roof or window damage but still standing, line both sides of the street. In the far background, the commercial building at 5669 W. 95th Street is visible. |
