This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of members of the Oak Lawn Fire Department preparing to do a controlled burn on a pile of debris. A man can be seen hosing the debris with gasoline from a Brandt and Sons fuel truck. Several fire department members, one with a radio in hand and another man in a suit stand nearby. In the background, a row of temporary trailers that were brought in for those who lost their homes can be seen. The trailers were located near Christ Community Hospital around 93rd Street and Tripp Avenue. |
