This is a photograph of damages after the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color image, taken in the alley between Marion and Merton Avenues, looks east toward Florence Martin's home at 9604 S. Merton. A garage, tossed and collapsed in the storm, blocks the alley. Broken trees and debris can be seen throughout the photo. A ladder is leaning against the utility pole in the background on the left. |
