Description |
This is a photograph of the building located at 5355 West 95th Street. Library staff photographed the property at the request of Landmark, IL, a statewide non-profit dedicated to saving historic places. The organization promotes the preservation, restoration, and adaptive use of buildings and sites. This building, located on the southeast corner of 95th Street and 54th Avenue housed Freshline Foods. The store closed on August 8, 2018 after operating for 47 years. This photograph features the west and south facades of the building. The east end of the building once housed Pat Harvey Women's Apparel at 5351 West 95th Street. The apparel store went out of business in 1993 and the building was purchased by Freshline Foods to expand the store. At the time of this photograph, Pete's Fresh Market had announced their intention to move into the building. In the background on the left, Frankie's Beef & Pasta Catering, located at 5364 West 95th Street, is visible. |
