This is a photograph of new pavement on Dumke Drive at Cook Avenue during the construction of the Village Green. The Village Green, Veterans Memorial, Kid's Kingdom playground, and a gazebo were all built on the former site of Oak Lawn Village Hall located at 5252 Dumke Drive. This view is looking south from the parking lot of the Masonic Lodge located at 9420 South 52nd Avenue toward the intersection of 95th Street and Cook Avenue. Dumke Drive passes left (east) to right (west) in the photograph. Dumke Drive ends as it curves left (south) into Cook Avenue near the Oak Lawn Public Library, seen on the right. The 5210 Office Building is visible in the left background. The newly repaved Oak Lawn Public Library parking lot is seen in the middle of the photograph. Businesses along the south side of 95th Street near the intersection of Cook Avenue are seen in the background. The sign for R. M. Post Realtors ERA office, located at 5251 W. 95th, is most prominent. Cook School, located at 9526 South Cook Avenue, is partially visible behind the office building. |
