Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Centennial Parade in 1982. The event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. It features a float sponsored by the Holiday Inn of Oak Lawn moving westbound on 95th Street, just past the railroad crossing near 51st Avenue. The float features a couple sitting in a flower covered carriage pulled by two life-sized black horses. Groebe Realty, located at 5041 West 95th Street, a residential home, and spectators lining the south side of 95th Street, are partially visible behind the float. |
