Description |
This is a photograph of the construction of the Metra commuter parking lot at 95th Street and 51st Avenue. The M-5 Stuart Tank War Memorial is seen on the right of the picture. The tank and the Blue Star Memorial Highway plaque were located in the small park that was used to build this parking lot. The tank was moved to small pad near the railroad crossing signal on 95th Street and the Blue Star Memorial Highway plaque is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Cook Avenue and 95th Street. Heavy equipment is being used to prepare the ground which is dotted with marker flags. Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, located at 9411 South 51st Avenue, and the church's parsonage can be seen in the right background. |
