Description |
This is a photograph of the Harris Bank Commercial District complex at the corner of 95th Street and 52nd Avenue. The view is from the north side of 95th Street at about 51st Avenue looking to the southwest. The area has been updated with street lights, planters, and new sidewalks with red brick inlays. The bank complex was built in 1997 and consisted of a strip mall that included a Potbelly Sandwich Shop, a Starbucks Coffee shop, and several other stores. The Harris Bank building occupies the southeast corner of the property at 5151 West 95th Street. Mal's Men's Shop, located at 5201 West 95th Street on the southwest corner of the intersection of 95th Street and 52nd Avenue, is visible in the background. The old Cook School building, located at 9526 South Cook Avenue, is partially visible between the Harris Bank clock tower and the Mal's Men's Shop building. The school has since been demolished. Businesses in view along the north side of 95th Street include Fernwood Smith Cleaners, which was located at 5114 West 95th Street, and Krauss' Gaslite Lounge located at 5130 W. 95th Street. The Fernwood Smith building has since been demolished. |
