Description |
This is a photograph featuring a view of the alley behind the home located at 9126 S. 54th Avenue. Chuck Bakutis is painting the fence. Another man, possibly his father, Charles Bakutis, looks on from behind the gate. The home was purchased by Viola and Charles Bakutis in 1953. Today it is known as the Chapman House (Harker Farm House), a historical landmark that was built in 1924. The home was built on vertical poles and had no foundation. There was a cellar in the rear of the house that contained a coal burning furnace and coal bin. Bakutis later put in a foundation and enlarged the cellar. |
