Description |
This is a photograph of the intersection of 95th Street and Cook Avenue. The view is looking to the north. From left to right, a truck is parked in the Safeway Motor Sales & Service Sinclair service station located at 5252 W. 95th Street. Cars are also parked on the west side of Cook Avenue near the Oak Lawn Public Library located at 9427 South Raymond Avenue. The Oak Lawn Village Hall is seen beyond the library and located at 5252 James Street. On the right, not visible but located at 9437 South Cook Avenue, Center of Public Safety. The Oak Lawn water tower, in the very right of the photograph, was located just east of those buildings. The building in the center of photograph is Nick's Tap (formerly Schultz's Tavern and Jim's Tap Room), located at 5220 West 95th Street. A stoplight for controlling traffic on 95th Street is located in front of the tavern. A bench near the tavern advertises Teen Age Auto Insurance. Some residential homes, located on James Street at 52nd Avenue, are partially visible beyond the water tower. |
