Description |
This is a photograph of damages after the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The black & white image shows the Arvid and Lucille Anderson home at 9400 S. Major Avenue with the family car overturned in the driveway. Richard Stell, on the left, and Ken Folliard, on the right, backs to the camera, stand on the sidewalk looking at the destroyed home and overturned car. Arvid & Lucille Anderson were at home when the storm struck. They sheltered in the basement and found their new car, seen in the photo, had been thrown onto the kitchen portion of their home. They were not hurt despite their house being destroyed. |
