Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Centennial Parade in 1982. It features a car pulling a float sponsored by the Homestead Barr as it moves westbound on 95th Street at about 51st Avenue. The bar is located at 9306 South Central Avenue. The float is passing the Oak Lawn Shell Car Wash and Detail Center, located at 5105 W. 95th Street, and partially visible in the background of the picture. Spectators can be seen lining the curb in front of the car wash to watch the parade. The event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. |
