This is a photograph featuring the sign on the I.N.R. (Issac Newton Ross) Beatty Lumber Company property located at 9537 South 52nd Avenue. The lumber company was originally incorporated as a business in 1895 in Morris, Illinois. At its height, the company boasted 5 locations including Joliet, Seneca, and Beecher in addition to the Oak Lawn and Morris locations. The Morris and Oak Lawn locations were closed in 2010. The Oak Lawn buildings were razed in June of 2016 to make way for redevelopment. The site is now the home of an Advocate Medical Group building. |
