Description |
This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of a controlled burn of debris being monitored by the Oak Lawn Fire Department behind two damaged homes in an unidentified location. People can be seen carrying debris toward the fire. Numerous damaged buildings were deposed of in this way, lessening the amount of rubble that needed to be hauled out of the village. A Northern Illinois Gas Company truck is on the scene. A gas company worker uses a piece of equipment on the back of the truck and several other gas workers in yellow hard hats work behind. |
