Description |
This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a field of debris on the northwest corner of 95th Street and Southwest Highway. Numerous damaged, broken and burned trees are visible. On the left is the site of Shoot's Tavern which was totally destroyed in the tornado. A semi trailer is seen laying on its side. The damaged remnants of the Fisher's Motel can be seen on the right. In the background, Oak Lawn Community High School is visible. The building has a gaping hole and heavy damage in the area of the school where the swimming pool is located. |
