Description |
This is a photograph, circa 1912, of Evergreen Farm in the winter. The black & white image shows the yard with a mix of decidious and evergreen trees surrounding a big two story farmhouse. The home, a white house with green shutters, belonged to noted Belgian sculptor Albert L. Van Den Berghen. On the right, in the foreground is a corn grinder which required a horse to operate it. Evergreen Farm was at 103th Street and Long Avenue and encompassed about 120 acres. |
