Description |
This is a photograph from the 1976 American Bicentennial parade held in Oak Lawn. Pictured are members of the Northwest Territory Alliance, an American Revolutionary War reenactment organization located in the Midwestern United States. Participating in the parade were the 42nd Regiment of Foot, the 8th Regiment of Drums & Fifes; and the 4th Regiment Artillery Band. The troops led and set the pace of the parade. In this photograph, a group of reenactors are moving westbound on 95th Street just past the railroad tracks near 51st Avenue. Spectators can be seen lining the south side of 95th street to watch the parade. The Oak Lawn Shell Car Wash and Detail Center, located at 5105 W. 95th Street, is seen in the background on the right. |
