This is a photograph of the building located at 10000 South Kostner Avenue. Library staff photographed the property at the request of Landmark, IL, a statewide non-profit dedicated to saving historic places. The organization promotes the preservation, restoration, and adaptive use of buildings and sites. This is a photograph of the Elim Evangelical Free Church located at 10000 South Kostner Avenue. This building was dedicated June 15, 1958. The congregation's original buildings were located in Chicago at 60th and Peoria Street, built in 1908, and 78th & Indiana, built in 1927. This photograph features a view of the east facade of the church looking north to south across the front facade of the building. The church sign is in the left foreground. At the time this photograph was taken, The Church of Chicago, also an affiliate of the Evangelical Free Church of America, shared use of the building with Elim Evangelical Free Church. |
