Description |
This is an aerial photograph of the area of 52nd Avenue between 96th Street and 95th Street as viewed from southeast to northwest. 95th Street is running diagonally from the top (west) to the bottom left (east) of the photo. The railroad tracks are seen in the middle of the photo running from northeast (right) to southwest (left). 96th Street is visible in the left of photo. The Metra commuter parking lot is partially visible on the left. The train station's triangular roof is also visible. Permacor, Inc., located at 9540 S. Tulley Avenue, and I.N.R. Beatty Lumber, located at 9537 S. 52nd Avenue, are visible. Additional lumber yard storage sheds are seen to the west of 52nd Avenue. The lumber yard has since been demolished. The Johnson-Phelps VFW Post #5220 is seen on the corner of 52nd Avenue and Wabash Avenue (now known as Yourell Drive). Cook School, located at 9526 S. Cook Avenue, is visible just north of the railroad tracks on Cook Avenue. Both the lumber yard and Cook School have since been demolished. On the north side of 95th Street, the Oak Lawn Municipal Center, the Oak Lawn Public Library, the Village Green and the Oak Lawn Masonic Lodge can be seen. |
