Description |
This is a photograph, developed as a slide, of the damages after the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color image shows the residential neighborhood next to the First Christian Reformed Church of Oak Lawn at 9401 S. 54th Avenue. Halfway up the tree in the center of the picture is a piece of amber colored glass that was broken out of the church window and imbedded in the tree by the force of the tornado. A broken tree can be seen across the street and the home to the right is having roof repair done. In the foreground, some sections of a picket fence are piled against a tree. |
