This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Pet Parade in 1978. The parade was sponsored by the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce. It began at 95th Street and Mansfield Avenue and traveled east to 52nd Avenue. This photograph features children and adults with their dogs as they make the turn off eastbound 95th Street to southbound 52nd Avenue, near Mal's Men's Shop located at 5201 West 95th Street. Little Bo Peep and Raggedy Ann and Andie are represented. Spectators are watching the parade at the corner of the intersection near the traffic signal. Other businesses on the north side of 95th Street include the 5210 Office Building, medical offices building at 5208 West 95th Street, and only partially in view, the Zimmerman & Sandeman Funeral Home at 5200 W. 95th Street. |
