Description |
This is a slide of the Oak Lawn War Memorial taken in 1979. It features an M-5 Stuart Tank at a war memorial located at Columbus Drive and 95th Street. The site is an historical landmark and was established in 1937. In 1940, a WWI era French built Renault FT Tank was added to the site. The Renault FT was a WWI era tank that began seeing service in 1917. The Renault tank was eventually donated as scrap metal to aid the war effort during WW II. |
