Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Centennial Parade in 1982. The parade celebrated the 100th anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. The photograph features a car pulling a float sponsored by Krauss' Gaslight Lounge. The float includes a gas lamp, several people sitting at a table, a bar, a bartender, and spittoons. The women appear to be dressed as dance hall girls while the man is outfitted as a cowboy. The float is moving westbound on 95th Street just past the railroad crossing at about 51st Avenue. |
