Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Round-Up Days parade in 1953. The black & white image shows the reviewing stand at 95th Street and 53rd Avenue. Fred M. Dumke, a Village Trustee at the time, is seated at the far right end of the reviewing stand. Oak Lawn Mayor Harvey Wick is seen fifth from the left. An Andy Frain usher is posted on 95th Street in front of the reviewing stand. He is seen looking east toward the oncoming parade. A man in the back row, about center, with a patch over one eye, is believed to be Kenneth Shoot, a Chamber of Commerce member who was reportedly injured in a shooting accident in the days leading up to the start of Round Up Days. Other spectators are seated in chairs on 95th Street in front of the reviewing stand. |
