Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Round-Up Days parade in 1953. The black & white image shows a stage coach followed by a team of horses pulling a covered wagon, moving west on 95th Street near Oak Lawn Trust & Savings Bank, 5310 W. 95th Street. The stagecoach is being driven by a man and three women & another man are seated near the driver. Three children are leaning out of the coach windows, waving to the spectators. A covered wagon, pulled by two horses, is just behind the stagecoach. A sign for I.N.R. Beatty Lumber is attached to the cover over the wagon. The Oak Lawn Trust & Savings Bank is in the background and the Ferris wheel for the event can be seen to its right. The Oak Lawn water tower at the municipal complex is visible on the far right side of the photo. |
