This is a photograph of Dr. Edward Schussler and children on the front porch of the family home located at 5400 W. 96th Street. Left to right: unknown, unknown, Dr. Edward Schussler, Robert (on his father's lap), unknown, Edward Jr. The home, known as the Keyhole House was built in 1893 by Erasmus Minnick. It has been owned by several families including the McCords, the Ingrams, the Schussler family and Michael & Brenda Rzechulas, who did extensive repairs to the home during the 1970s and 1980s, and Robert and Colette Rohan. It is known as the Keyhole House because of the keyhole shaped stained glass window on the east side of the home. The home was designated as a historical landmark by the Oak Lawn Historic Preservation Commission on August 29, 1998. |
