This item is a slide of the 1982 Oak Lawn Centennial Parade. This is a picture, probably taken from the second floor of the Oak Lawn Public Library, of tent located on the corner of 95th Street and Raymond Avenue. Large inflatable Budweiser Beer cans are visible at each corner of the lot. In the background, the parade makes its way west down 95th Street. Several businesses are visible in the background such as Pat Harvey, a women's apparel store located at 5351 W. 95th Street, and Freshline Foods located at 5355 W. 95th Street, and Prince Castles Hamburgers located on the southeast corner of 95th Street and 54th Avenue. In the distant background, an advertisment for the Beatty Lumber Company is painted on the east side of the Professional Orthodontics Building located at 5569 W. 95th Street on the southeast corner of the intersecton of 95th Street and Central Avenue. This event celebrated the one hundredth anniversary of Oak Lawn's official survey. |
