Description |
This is a photograph of workers on the construction site of the 51st Avenue Station development, a mixed commercial and residential building, located at 9440 South 51st Avenue. This development was built on the former site of Fernwood Smith Cleaners at 5114 West 95th Street, the A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange located at 5112 W. 95th Street, and Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located in back of the currency exchange at 5108 West 95th Street. This photograph features workers on the west side of the site laying cement blocks. The white building in the background was a temporary construction and sales office on the site. In the background on the right, the Potbelly Sandwich Works, located at 5129 West 95th Street in the Harris Bank Commercial District, is visible. A piece of construction equipment parked on the east side of Tulley Avenue is partially visible in the very right of the photograph. |
