Description |
This is an aerial photograph of 95th Street and Cook Avenue looking southwest. In the bottom left of the image, the northeast corner of 95th Street and Cook Avenue is visible. At the time this corner housed the Oak Lawn Water Tower, Village Hall, Oak Lawn Fire Department and Oak Lawn Police Department. Just across Cook Avenue, a number of locations including the original Oak Lawn Public Library, Safeway Motor Sales and Service at 5252 West 95th Street, Phil Krauss' Yankee Lounge at 5256 West 95th Street (formerly Hilgendorf home at 5240 West 95th Street) and The Hearty Eat Shop at 5248 West 95th Street can be seen. On the far right of the photo, Behrend's Hardware, at 5300 West 95th Street, is just visible. In addition, near the top left of the photo, Cook School, at 9526 South Cook Avenue, and the first Oak Lawn Train Station are present. |
