Description |
This is a photograph of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a large crane from the Three Oaks Wrecking Company parked on the site of the Anderson home located at 9400 S. Major Avenue. The Anderson home was demolished in the storm. Looking from the northwest to the southeast, heavily damaged homes and debris are seen all around. A car is parked along 94th Street facing east at Major Avenue. Another car with broken out windows sits amid the debris in the right of the picture. An intact utility pole stands above the carnage. |
