This is a photograph of a group of children sitting on a fence along the route of the 1952 Oak Lawn Round-Up parade. Some type of vehicle can be seen in the left background, its orange license plate visible. Some of the children are wearing cowboy hats and wearing toy gun in holsters around their waists. One boy is dressed as an Indian. A boy on the right is holding two balloons. In the background the Sinclair Gasoline sign at Safeway Motor Sales and Service, located at 5252 W. 95th Street, is visible as is Nick's Tap Room (formerly Schultz's Tavern and Jim's Tap Room), located at 5220 W. 95th Street, to the right. A police officer is also visible in the background between the children on the right. |
