Description |
This is a photograph of Robert Ulatoski during his service in the Korean War. The black & white image shows Ulatoski standing on the steps of a train car with other soldiers in the background. A handwritten inscription on the back reads "myself going to the 24th Division. Taken around Taegu, busy train". The 24th Division was one of the first units to respond to the outbreak of the Korean War. The first 18 months of the war were spent at the front lines with the division suffering a great amount of casualties. The 24th Division was removed from the front line to perform reserve duties. |
