Description |
This is a photograph of damages after the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color image shows firefighter Elmore "Al" Harker, Jr., wearing his helmet and turnout coat, standing in front of a home that is on fire. Smoke is billowing out from the house. Fire hoses are lying on the slushy, snowy ground by Harker. Homes deemed unsalvageable after the storm were burned during the clean up work. |
